Green tea and liver health
  • Consume plants high in polyphenols, e.g. drinking green tea
  • Milk Thistle (Silymarin) can be used to ease symptoms of liver dysfunction from alcoholism and hepatitis 
  • Limit table salt to 1 teaspoon per day
  • Consider smoking cessation

Meat or NOT?

  • Excellent source of vitamin B12 (important for creating energy), zinc, magnesium, and iron 
  • 50-75% of calories from red meat are from fat 
  • Not a favourable fatty acid profile 
  • Lean meat, skinless poultry meat
