Interesting foods to protect Liver Health

- Consume plants high in polyphenols, e.g. drinking green tea
- Milk Thistle (Silymarin) can be used to ease symptoms of liver dysfunction from alcoholism and hepatitis
- Limit table salt to 1 teaspoon per day
- Consider smoking cessation

Meat or NOT?

- Excellent source of vitamin B12 (important for creating energy), zinc, magnesium, and iron
- 50-75% of calories from red meat are from fat
- Not a favourable fatty acid profile
- Lean meat, skinless poultry meat
